Game Overview
The Second Life Shockwaves Water Fight game is a grid wide water balloon fight with the main objective of collecting the most Shockwaves Waterfight Medallions. The winning team will receive L$1,000,000!! Divided among the team members based on the number of points each member has. This is a provocative game of individual skill, alliances, team play and strategy. Bring your friends and test your skills in the Shockwaves Water Fight Game!

How to Participate?
Players score points by engaging in a water balloon fight. Players receive 1 pt for each unique participant they hit with a balloon in a given 24-hour period. A unique participate is counted as someone currently participating in the game, that the user has not hit with a water balloon in the last 24 hours. A player can score an unlimited number of points each day, they just can't hit points for hitting the same opponent over and over.
Should a player be hit by an opponent and thus forced to switch teams, the player's point total will revert to zero.
Each player begins the game as the captain of his or her own team. The player can grow the team by hitting other players with water balloons. A player will only switch teams once per day, so the first opposing team to hit a player in a 24-hour period will effectively cause the player to switch teams.
If the captain of a team is hit by an opposing team's water balloon their team is completely disbanded and the players once again find themselves as the captain of their own team.
After any player earns 10 points while a member of a team they are given the option to buy their freedom. If a player chooses to buy their freedom they are released from their current team and become the captain of their own team.
The team goal is to collect as many Shockwaves Medallions as possible. A team's total number of medallions equals the sum of all the medallions held by team members.
15 times during the game Play Medallion Monoliths will appear throughout the grid. You must work with your team to collect the most medallions. At the end of the game period the team that has collected the most medallions splits 1 million Lindens.
In order to "grab" a medallion, 10 team members must touch the monolith. Upon the 10th team member touching it, the monolith will unlock for 20 minutes and allow each team member who touches the monolith to collect a medallion. For example if 15 team members touch the monolith, they each receive a medallion and the team gains 15 medallions.
Medallions are tied to individual game players and not teams however. When players switch teams they bring their medallions with them. The winning team will then be the team that has the most points, and then the prize will be distributed amongst team members according to how many individual medallions they have.

Shockwaves Waterfight (the “Contest”) begins 16:00 PM (noon) Geneva Time (“CET”) on August 23rd, 2007 and ends at 05:59 PM CET, November 7th, 2007 (“Promotion Period”). The Promotion is an entertainment-only game in the Second Life® on-line virtual world and is sponsored by Wella Shockwaves / New Wave (“Sponsor”). Linden Research, Inc. (“Linden Lab”) is not a sponsor or partner in this Promotion. The Second Life® name is a registered trademark of Linden Research, Inc.
This contest is a game of skill, and chance plays no part in determining the winner. By submitting an entry in this contest, the entrant agrees to be bound by the terms of these official rules and the decisions of Wella Shockwaves / New Wave and the contest judges.
1. How to Enter:
Entrants may register a free Second Life® account on the Second Life® home page if they do not have an account.
Entrants must use the Shockwaves Waterfight Game Kit (“Game Kit”) to play the Waterfight Game (“Game”) in Second Life® during the Contest Period to be considered entered in the Contest.
Entrants obtain the Game Kit by visiting the Shockwaves Waterfight Headquarters on Sheep Island in Second Life®. Entrants can visit www.shockwaves.com/secondlife/ for the Second Life® URL (“SLURL”) to the Shockwaves Waterfight Headquarters in Second Life®. The SLURL will provide a Teleport link that will direct the Second Life® application to direct Entrants to the map location of the Shockwaves Waterfight Headquarters.
2. Eligibility:
No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest.
Entrants must be legal residents of, and must physically reside in, one of the following countries and must meet the minimum age requirement for their respective country listed below:
• Great Britain, 18 years of age
• Ireland, 18 years of age
• Netherlands, 18 years of age
• Belgium, 18 years of age
• Germany, 18 years of age
• Austria, 18 years of age
• Portugal, 18 years of age
• Norway, 18 years of age
• Sweden, 18 years of age
• Denmark, 18 years of age
• Finland, 18 years of age
Void elsewhere and where prohibited by law.
This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations.
Employees and their immediate families, including household members, of Sponsor and/or of each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates, and of their respective distributors, suppliers, participating vendors, promotion or advertising agencies, or of any other company or person involved with the design, production, execution or distribution of the Contest (collectively, Sponsors’ “Contest Partners”) are not eligible to enter. Sponsor reserves the right to exclude anyone convicted of a crime. Entrants must have nothing in their background that would be an embarrassment to Sponsors or Sponsors’ Contest Partners. Sponsor reserves the right to exclude Entrants for any reason, at Sponsors’ sole discretion.
Entrants may be required to register and provide personal information to the entities operating Second Life® in order to utilize this platform for submission. No registration information about the entrants will be provided to Wella Shockwaves / New Wave by the entities operating this third-party platform. Entrants should review the policies of this third-party platform to determine what personal information will be collected at registration and how it may be used by such platform.
Any entrants selected as winner will be contacted and asked to provide personal information to Wella Shockwaves / New Wave in order to verify eligibility and facilitate the awarding of the prize.

4. Prizes and Monetary Value:
The prize for the Contest is 1 MM Linden Dollars, for use within Second Life® as per existing Second Life® policies.
There will be three waves/games in the contest and at the end of each wave/game 1 MM Linden Dollars will be given to the team with the most collected medallions.
By entering this Contest entrants acknowledge that, pursuant to the Second Life® Terms of Service, Linden Dollars are a fictional currency, which constitutes a limited license right governed solely under the Terms of Service, and are not redeemable for any sum of money or monetary value from Sponsors or Linden Lab at any time. Entrants agree that Linden Lab has the absolute right to manage, regulate, control, modify and/or eliminate such currency as it sees fit at its sole discretion, in any general or specific case, and that neither Sponsors nor Linden Lab will have any liability to entrants based on its exercise of such right. No cash or other substitution, assignment or transfer of prize permitted. Entrants must comply with all terms herein and winning is contingent on fulfilling all requirements. Federal, state and local taxes, if any, on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor will award the applicable prize to an alternate winner.
The Entrants selected as the winners must confirm their contact information by e-mail, so that Wella Shockwaves / New Wave may deliver to the selected Entrants certain documents confirming eligibility.
5. Conditions of Participation
Any conduct by an entrant other than as set forth in these Official Rules is strictly prohibited and void. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds, to be tampering with the operation of the Contest ; to be acting in violation of these Official Rules; or to be acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.
ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND/OR CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
By entering the Contest, entrants fully and unconditionally agree and accept to be bound by the rules herein and by the Second Life® Terms of Service, Community Standards and Privacy Policy.
Participation in the Contest must be made only as specified in these Official Rules. Failure to comply with these Official Rules will result in disqualification and Prize forfeiture.
Regardless of the cause or reason therefore, including, without limitation, unintentional human error by any person, no responsibility is assumed by Wella Shockwaves / New Wave for any computer, telephone, cable, satellite, network, electronic or Internet hardware or software malfunctions, failures, lost or unavailable connections, failed, delayed, garbled or jumbled transmissions, service provider/Internet/web site/use net accessibility or availability, traffic congestion, or unauthorized human intervention.
6. Releases and Limitations of Liability
By entering into this Contest or accepting a Prize, entrants, agree to release and to hold harmless Sponsors and Sponsors’ Contest Partners and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and agencies, as well as the officers, directors, employees, shareholders and representatives of any of the foregoing entities from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever, including, but not limited to, for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with participation in the Contest, receipt, ownership, use or misuse of any Prize or while preparing for, participating in and/or traveling to or from any Prize related activity, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy. By participating, entrants, including but not limited to the Grand Prize Winner, agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsors. Entrants understand that this is not an application for employment.
Sponsors assume no responsibility for any disruptions of the Contest. Entrants play at your own risk. Sponsors are not responsible for any incorrect, invalid or inaccurate entry information; human errors; technical malfunctions; failures, including public utility or telephone outages; omissions, interruptions, deletions or defects of any telephone system or network, computer online systems, data, computer equipment, servers, providers, or software (including, but not limited to, software and operating systems that do not permit an entrant to participate in the Contest), including without limitation any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer or video equipment relating to or resulting from participation in the Contest; game interruptions or disturbances, inability to access the Website, or any web pages of the Sponsors; theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, data that is processed late or incorrectly or is incomplete or lost due to telephone, postal issues, computer or electronic malfunction or traffic congestion on telephone lines or transmission systems, or the Internet, or any service provider’s facilities, or any phone site or website or for any other reason whatsoever; typographical, printing or other errors, or any combination thereof. Sponsors are also not responsible for incomplete, illegible, misdirected or stolen entries.
If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, or if the Contest or any online service, including Second Life®, associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper entry to the Contest and processing of entries or bounties in accordance with these Official Rules, or if infection by a computer (or similar) virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes, in the sole opinion of Sponsors corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual implicated in such action and/or to cancel, terminate, extend, modify or suspend the Contest without awarding any prizes. If such cancellation, termination, modification or suspension occurs, notification will be posted on the Website.
If Linden Lab changes its Terms of Service, Community Standards and/or Privacy Policy in any way, including without limitation imposing any requirement for, or advantage to consideration or payment by entrants in the Contest, Sponsor reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, extend, modify or suspend the Contest without awarding any prizes. If such cancellation, termination, modification or suspension occurs, notification will be posted on the Website. Sponsors, in their sole discretion, reserve the right to change particular aspects of the game during the Contest Period to increase or improve play, fairness and/or competition. Sponsor may prohibit any entrant or potential entrant from participating in the Contest if, at the sole discretion of Sponsor, such person shows a disregard for this Official Rules, or acts with an intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant, Sponsors, or its agents or representatives, or in any other disruptive manner.
7. Contest Master:
Wella Shockwaves / New Wave, brand of Procter & Gamble, shall function as the "Contest Master," and shall be responsible for overseeing the Contest, including but not limited to overseeing all aspects of determining eligible participants. By participating in the Contest, participants agree to the Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects.
8. Winners:
A complete list of winners will be published at the end of each wave/game on Shockwaves Waterfight Headquarters on Sheep Island in Second Life® as well as on www.shockwaves.com/secondlife/.
